Why did you choose UNH?

I chose UNH because of the extra curricular activities there are. I was actively involved in band and the music fraternity until this past year. I also love the location. It’s right near the beach and Portsmouth, and also close to many ski mountains.

What have you worked on in the field of marine biology and what are your future plans?

I am working on a Marine Biology minor so I have participated in many classes such as Marine Ecology, Underwater Research (Shoal’s), Anatomy and Function of Marine Verts (Shoal’s) and Marine Immersion (Shoal’s). I am currently trying to get involved in diving research at James Cook University in Australia.

Any advice for prospective students?

Get involved in a lab ASAP! It’s great for experience and your resume and all of the professors are AWESOME! I wish I had gotten involved as soon as I stepped foot into either Rudman or Spaulding. Most professors have a profile on the UNH website telling you about their research so you can look at it ahead of time to see where your interests line up.
